Adobe Photoshop Elements 8 is the newest version of one of the top selling photo and video editing software applications on the market today. InDesign CS4 is scheduled to be released in October of 2009 and is the sixth version of the software. InDesign is page layout program that has been used for several years now. While this is an update, is not a necessary one. If you already have the InDesign software there is no need to update to InDesign CS4.
Probably the most exciting update to the software is the addition of smart tools. The smart tools make it much easier to work with document objects via your mouse. Instead of simply eyeballing it for placement, you can use the smart tools to choose a precise placement for everything in your page layout.
Another exciting addition is that Adobe added a Flash export capability to the Adobe InDesign CS4. This capability allows for the user to create SWF animations from layouts which may use video, sounds, and even transition effects. This isn’t a huge addition, but it will definitely please some subgroups.
